Hi, the townhouse complex that I live in has a big bumpy hill that the kids use to go sledding and there is a fence (not sure how many feet from the bottom of the hill) - we are going to need to excavate some dirt in the future and we are thinking of moving it to the hill and trying to make it safer - I have been looking everywhere for info on how to build a safe, fun snow sledding hill, so that if we can make modifications to the hill to make it safer, we can do this with our bobcat and free dirt! I have found info on rail/summer sledding with specs on the degree of the slope and how much free space should be at the bottom of the hill, but I cannot find anything that would give us some solid info on making our snow sledding hill safer . . . aside from "no obstructions, smooth path with no drop offs, separate climbing path" and "adequate slow down area" at the bottom of the hill . . . SO . . . anyone know of some specs or data that states safest slope and what EXACTLY would constitute an "adequate" slow down area at the bottom of the slope? Thanks!
