In reference to http://www.SledRiding.com/benefactors.html
What do donations support?
1) Future website modifications (i.e. a recent donation led to us using 100% of the funds to pay for a new site log which is currently in creation as of Jan. 2012).
2) Time involved to maintain the website (from Nov-March annually, there is A LOT of time involved sorting through the hill submittals and placing them no the site)
3) New sled acquisitions (if not donated) to review. (i.e. We would love to review the Alurunner, but it isn't in our budget)
4) Very large donations would go towards the SledRiding.com legacy fund. What is that? Well, as of right now, the site is maintained by myself. Someday, decades in the future I hope, the site may cease to exist if there isn't a way for it to continue after I've passed on (and if my son doesn't care to continue the upkeep of the database). I'd love to someday to be able to put the site on autopilot; but due to spammers, time and low funds, I have no choice but to manually enter every hill submitted after scrutinizing it.
Hey google, do ya wanna support this database? We would gladly accept a large donation that would go toward a complete 100% website design overhaul. We would guesstimate that costing tens of thousands of dollars to do though, since it would be an extremely timely evolution listing all of the hills into the new database. There's probably not a chance that my vision of the SledRiding.com legacy fund ever to come to creation, but there's always wishful thinking. I play the lottery, so we'll see.
